1. Dover Rental Agreement

All vehicle rentals through Dover are subject to a detailed Rental Agreement provided at booking confirmation or at vehicle collection. This agreement sets out specific terms, conditions, insurance details, charges, and your responsibilities for the particular rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

2. User Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Dover, you must:

Be aged 21 or older (age limits depend on vehicle type, and additional fees may apply for drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence for the vehicle category, maintained for the minimum period specified in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid photo identification and evidence of payment and address, presented to Dover at vehicle collection.

3. Bookings and Payments

Bookings can be made through our website, by phone, or in person at our Dover.Keep location. A booking deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. Full payment and a security deposit are typically due at vehicle collection. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Vehicle Pickup and Return

You must inspect the vehicle carefully at collection and report any existing damage to Dover immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by you and a Dover representative. Return the vehicle in the same condition as collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage identified on return will be documented and charged to the renter.

5. Liability and Coverage

Basic third-party insurance is included with all Dover rentals. Full coverage details and excess amounts are set out in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to reduce your financial liability. Please review these options and the Rental Agreement carefully. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess amount specified in the Rental Agreement.

6. Cancellation and Modifications

Dover's cancellation and amendment policies vary by booking type and notice period. Consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for the applicable terms. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.

7. Disallowed Uses

You may not use the rented vehicle for:

Any illegal purpose or activity involving a Dover vehicle. Racing, rally events, off-roading, or other hazardous activities. Transporting hazardous or toxic materials. Subletting the vehicle to third parties or permitting unauthorized drivers. Operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Using the vehicle for purposes for which it was not designed...

Violating these restrictions may result in Dover terminating rental and imposing fees.

8. Limits on Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Dover will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or business, arising from your use of our services. Dover's total liability for any claim will not exceed the total fees paid by you to Dover for the services supplied in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim.

9. Applicable Law

These Terms for Dover are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Amendments to Terms

Dover may revise these Terms at any time. Revisions take effect immediately upon posting to Dover's website. Your continued use of Dover's services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
